Big muscles and an ability to campus do help on harder routes, but they are not nearly enough. Precise footwork and an ability to climb well will get you much farther. One of the best ways to improve your footwork is to slab climb. Taking the time to learn proper technique on steep routes will get you farther than you can imagine.
